Vacuum Excavators Retrieve Both Wet and Dry Spoil
A new line of 500-gal. vacuum excavators offers 3 models with an engine idle-down feature that automatically reduces the engine to idle when the water is not in use. Engine then returns to normal working range and vacuum when the reduction tool trigger is depressed. Model V500LT features a 36-hp. Kubota diesel engine that provides 575 c.f.m. Dual 50-gal., freshwater saddle tanks positioned over axles reduce tongue weight for towing. Tandem-axle trailer has electric brakes on each axle. Model V500LTHD offers a 49-hp. diesel for increased power; a vacuum blower pump that delivers 950 c.f.m.; a 3-stage filtration system for both wet and dry material; and a 10,000-lb. GVWR tandem-axle trailer. Model V500, with 36-hp. diesel and 575-c.f.m. blower, has dual 125-gal. saddle tanks and a tandem-axle, 12,000-lb. GVWR trailer. All models feature an in-tank clean-out system with spray wand that washes the tank clean after dumping and eliminates manual cleaning. Vermeer Mfg. Co., Pella, IA
