Test kits identify contaminated diesel fuel
Even a small amount of water present in diesel fuel can trigger growth of bacteria, molds, and fungi that if left untreated can clog fuel filters. Ready-to-use
Even a small amount of water present in diesel fuel can trigger growth of bacteria, molds, and fungi that if left untreated can clog fuel filters. Ready-to-use Diesel Fuel Test Kits use a 2-sided plastic paddle that when inserted into fuel can identify aerobic bacteria between 24 and 36 hrs. after exposure (white side) or yeast and molds between 36 and 48 hrs. after exposure (red side). If colony growth is present, contaminated fuel should be treated with a biocide. If no growth appears, contamination is chemical and treatment with sludge dispersant is indicated. Test kits also can detect problems in hydraulic oils and water supplies.
