Tammy Rimes has been appointed executive director of the National Cooperative Procurement Partners (NCPP).

Rimes formerly served as a long-time government manager and Purchasing Agent for San Diego. Under her leadership, the city consolidated its warehouse operations, centralized all purchasing and contracting operations and provided emergency logistics support during the Witch Creek Fires of 2007.

As a keynote speaker and trainer, Rimes has worked with local governments across the nation, helping them solve operational and purchasing issues. Recently, for NCPP, she assisted as moderator of the organization’s webinar series.

In a statement, Rimes says, “My passion is training and creating meaningful content to support the public procurement profession. I sat in that purchasing chair and understand how crucial our role is for the success of the organization. My hopes are to collaborate with other procurement associations, support the NCPP membership and take the lead on educational efforts and advocacy as it relates to cooperative procurement.”

Todd Abner, NCPP chairman, says, “Tammy’s distinguished career in public procurement and cooperative purchasing provides NCPP the perfect leadership to advance the mission and vision of the organization.” He adds “Tammy’s demonstrated leadership will guide NCPP to the next level of providing superior service and representation to cooperatives in the public sector and education markets.”

Members of the Minneapolis-based NCPP work together to promote business ethics, best practices, and high standards to serve the procurement needs of government, education and non-profit agencies across the U.S. The association committed to furthering the education and advocacy of cooperative procurement. Its membership includes:
Cooperative Purchasing Organizations – national or regional
Vendors and Suppliers
Professional Associations
Non-Profit Organizations
State and Local Governments
Educational Institutions (Charter, K-12, Higher Education)
Public Procurement Professionals
