In 2016, more workers will be standing at their desk in the workplace, say a high percentage of the 314 voters in a recent GPN-American City & County poll.

Some of those workers may be standing on a GelPro NewLife Eco-Pro mat. It is made of 100 percent high-density, eco-friendly polyurethane foam. The product is designed to properly suspend body weight and helps reduce fatigue, according to the company. The product offers sturdy, cushioned support while you stand.

It delivers proper ergonomic support that helps prevent foot, leg & back discomfort, according to the company. Energy-return foam prevents fatigue while improving stamina. Beveled edges on the product prevent tripping.

“As more and more employers add stand up desks, they need to consider these kinds of accessories to get the full benefit of the desk,” says Denise Clarke, a spokesperson for GelPro, a manufacturer of comfort mats. “Of course, standing all day requires attention to posture and spinal compression.”

A recent independent study by the Texas A&M School of Health Science, commissioned by GelPro, found that NewLife Eco-Pro mats “significantly reduce spinal compression better than any other mat in the study.” The research compared conventional anti-fatigue mats with NewLife Eco-Pro. The phrase “significantly reduced spinal compression” means the discomfort and stress generally associated with standing is significantly reduced.

GelPro offers a discount for the military community (including those who currently or have honorably served) — 25 percent off on online purchases at GelPro.com. The company’s site lists the distinguished group of leading figures who have enjoyed the benefits of standing desks through the years. The site also lists the health benefits of standing desks.

GelPro offices are located in Austin, Texas. The firm manufactures its products in Waco, Texas, and also in the Detroit area.

In the video, see how the GelPro mat is engineered for comfort. The firm’s anti-fatigue floor mats are suited for kitchen, salons, or other areas when users are standing for an extended period.
