Report offers way to sustain water infrastructure
A year of expert discussion on repairing and maintaining the nation’s aging water and wastewater infrastructure has culminated in the Washington-based Aspen Institute‘s “Sustainable Water Systems: Step One — Redefining the Nation’s Infrastructure Challenge.” The new report, which will be discussed during a roundtable meeting at the institute’s headquarters on Wednesday, also covers methods to protect the natural watershed and meet challenges, such as climate change, droughts and heavy storms.
Federal, state and local government water utility regulators, water industry leaders and non-profit environmental groups contributed to “Sustainable Water Systems.” The contributors offered their perspective on maintaining and replacing pipes, treatment plants and critical water infrastructure.
Download the report from the Aspen Institute’s Web site. Wednesday’s roundtable discussion will be held from 12 to 1:30 p.m. EST and will include lunch. For more information and to RSVP for the luncheon, contact Regan Nelson at [email protected].
