Misumi celebrates 20 years in the United States
Misumi USA, a subsidiary of the Japan-based Misumi Corp., is commemorating its 20th anniversary in the United States. The company, based in Schaumburg, Ill., got its start in 1988, and supplies mechanical components for factory automation, as well as press die and plastic mold parts, cutting tools and gauges.
Several American industries, including assembly-machine building, packaging, semiconductor production, automotive, appliance, medical and consumer electronics, rely on the firm’s configurable component generator and online ordering system on the Misumi USA Web site.
Since the parent company’s integration with Suruga Seiki in 2005, the Misumi Group has steadily expanded overseas. In 2004, the company established the QCT logistics center near Chicago’s O’Hare airport as its local distribution center.
