Hybrid forklift runs for 11 hours per day
Touted as the “world’s first,” hybrid electric forklift can run for 11 hours per day with a 1-hour charge during the shift. Uses a sealed, maintenance-free industrial battery; built-in inverter charger; capacitor; and on-board charge controller to keep truck running at peak performance throughout its work cycle. Controller efficiently captures five different sources of regenerated current and stores the energy in a large capacitor. Capacitor then delivers current to truck, as directed by onboard controller to deliver power as needed to achieve peak performance levels. Komatsu Forklift USA Inc., Covington, Ga.
