Track and talk to pets via collar-based cell phone
To enhance the safety and comfort of dogs and other pets, a waterproof, voice-enabled cell phone was recently created by PetsMobility, Inc., based in Scottsdale, AZ. Called PetsCell, the phone includes GPS (global positioning system) technology, which pinpoints the pets exact location. Just clip the phone onto pets collar for a range of tracking and two-way communication capabilities. For instance, if the pet is lost and wandering through neighborhoods, a person who finds the pet can press the phones call owner button, which automatically dials the owners phone number. The owner can then speak with the person and make arrangements to retrieve the pet. In addition, if the pet leaves a designated area, determined through companion geo-fence, the phone can automatically alert pet owner by e-mail, text message, or voice message. The device even lets owners call their pets from a remote location, to say comforting words such as, Ill be home soon.
