  • Amid shifting workplace expectations, local government employers must adapt
Constrained by inflexible budgets, local government employers can’t compete with the lucrative salaries offered in the private sector. And while recruitment has always been a challenge for public employers, the last two years have been especially difficult. From January 2020 to the same month this year, government organizations lost around 600,000 jobs—more than manufacturing, wholesale […]

Minor league baseball is helping cities hit a revitalization home run
It’s that time of year again—the crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd when the home team hits a home run, not to mention the peanuts, Cracker Jacks and hot dogs! Nothing compares to the fun of gameday at the stadium, enjoying the national pastime of baseball. Some mid-sized cities have taken the […]

The MSP downstream cyberthreat paradox: Understanding the city and county connection
Recently the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) along with the FBI, NSA, and international cyber authorities issued a cybersecurity advisory aimed at protecting managed service providers (MSPs) and their customers. This high-level advisory has been gestating for some time ever since the SolarWinds and Kaseya supply chain cyber-attacks. A software supply chain attack occurs […]

The digital portal will launch […]

    I think this research is
I think this research is confusing liberal/conservative with democrat/republican. The cities in the liberal list I think are cities with people tha vote democrat but dont consider themselves to libetral or progressive. These are voters that vote democrat because of their situation but are otherwise socially and culturally conservative…

    Seattle really is very
Seattle really is very liberal, with their strict gun laws, lenient marijuana laws, anti-smoking, recycling, public services, high taxes. I am surprised Olympia isn’t on that list, too. It’s full of hippies and liberal idealists.

    I don’t believe it. Detroit
I don’t believe it. Detroit is no way the most liberal city in the U.S. The true test for liberal, is how accepting are they of members of the gay community, and most cities that have high black populations, like the ones listed, usually have a lot of violence towards gays. Michigan is also vehemently anti-same sex marriage. So, this is a bunch of bs. Michigan is blue only because it has a high black population, and has the auto industry. Boston, Providence, San Francisco, and Cambridge should be a lot higher, and the idea of Birmingham,AL on that list is a joke! Alabama is extremely homophobic, what a farce! Just because a city has a high black population, does not mean it is liberal in any way.

You and I think very much
You and I think very much alike in this regard. I’m looking to relocate out of Florida because of the marriage equality issue. I’m middle class so, some fancy flight off to California is out of the question. I need to be as practical as possible. I would like to speak to any gay person looking to relocate for the same reason. While I believe 2014 will bring an additional ten new states into marriage equality, I think everyone already knows which ten they are, Colorado being one of them. Shall we do this by state or city? I say State. contact me at my email address authorpainter at gmail dot com.

Actually San Fran came in at 9 on the lefty list, definitely too low. Why Portland, basically Berkley of the Northwest, is left off while including Birmingham, Alabama is mystifying.
