The 10 cities best poised for COVID-19 recovery

  • Written by Jason Axelrod
  • 8th June 2020

As protests break out across the U.S. and states have begun reopening their economies, public health experts have predicted that a second wave of COVID-19 is on the horizon, according to CNBC. However, some cities are better poised for recovery from the virus than others.

Moody’s Analytics, a subsidiary of the company that also owns Moody’s Investors Service, has issued a report that analyzes the top 100 metro areas in the U.S. and names which are best and worst poised for coronavirus recovery.

To determine the rankings, Moody’s Analytics compared each metro area’s population density to two measures of workforce quality, Forbes reports.

“The generation that is growing up today could remember the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on large, densely populated urban areas and be more likely than its predecessors to opt for less densely packed pastures in the decades to come,” wrote Adam Kamins, senior regional economist at Moody’s Analytics and the author of the report, according to Forbes.

We’ve included the 10 cities best poised for coronavirus recovery here. Moody’s Analytics did not rank the 10 cities, so they are presented here in alphabetical order. Is your city on the list?
