Boat performs law enforcement and other municipal tasks

Brunswick's 850 Aluminum Impact RHIB (rigid-hulled inflatable boat) is the first in a series of models. The boats are suited for law enforcement and other municipal jobs.

The 850 Aluminum Impact RHIB (rigid-hulled inflatable boat) is the introductory model in a series that will feature five styles. The first model measures 8.5 meters. The series will have models ranging in size from 7.5 to 12 meters. Use this unsinkable craft as a patrol boat for on-water police and law enforcement applications. It can also serve as a fire boat, as a crew boat for harbor work, or for dive and rescue operations. Brunswick Commercial & Government Products (BCGP) is the manufacturer.

Designed for the commercial and government marketplace, the manufacturer will market the series to domestic law enforcement agencies as well as militaries and governments worldwide.

The aluminum hull is a mill-finish welded structure designed by BCGP, fabricated by a local aluminum contractor and assembled at the firm’s Edgewater, Fla., headquarters. Features include dual 350-horsepower Mercury Marine Verado outboard engines, a hard-sided urethane-coated polyester fabric collar system by CPI, shock mitigating SHOXS Seats, a Raymarine electronics package and a Boatmaster heavy-duty aluminum trailer.

“The new aluminum RHIBs are an exciting addition to our existing product lineup because we now have the ability to offer customers a one-stop-shop experience,” says Jeremy Davis, BCGP director of sales. “By providing both aluminum and fiberglass solutions, we can help government agencies have more commonality in their fleets, allowing for maintenance optimization and interoperability for officers in the field.”

The manufacturer offers customizable crafts to commercial and government agencies around the world. The firm specializes in patrol, rescue, military, research and workboat applications.
