CGI Federal honored for hiring veterans

CGI Federal honored for hiring veterans

The Coalition for Government Procurement has recognized CGI Federal with the Excellence in Partnership (EIP) Award for the Best Veteran Hiring Program.

The Coalition for Government Procurement has recognized CGI Federal with the Excellence in Partnership (EIP) Award for the Best Veteran Hiring Program.

CGI Federal participates in many hiring and community initiatives for veterans. As a veteran-led company — its president is James B. Peake, a retired Army lieutenant general and former Department of Veterans Affairs secretary — it has committed to hiring more than 100 veterans in 2014 and completed the necessary steps to be certified as part of the Department of Veterans’ Services Virginia Values Veterans (V3) program. Through this partnership with DVS and the 100,000 Jobs Mission, CGI Federal hired more than 1,000 veterans in the last three years. In fact, veterans make up about a quarter of CGI Federal’s new hires each year. CGI Federal also supports several veterans’ charities, including the Wounded Warrior Project and Team Fisher House.

The awards gala where CGI Federal received the award will be held Nov. 5 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.
