Martin Connor, city planner for Torrington, Conn., took this photo of a fawn, which he dubbed “Bambi,” that took up temporary residence on his porch on a Saturday in early June. “Bambi’s mom left her on my front porch for the entire day,” Connor says. “She returned late in the afternoon to eat more of my wife’s flowers and pick up Bambi. Bambi stayed put from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. My daughter never listened that well to my orders!”
