Where’s the fire?
In April, Carlton, Ore., resident Craig Brown brought the fire to the fire station. Brown was driving through McMinnville, Ore., when he noticed that his pickup truck was on fire, according to the Associated Press. Rather than pulling over and calling 911, Brown just drove a few more blocks to the McMinnville Fire Station, with smoke beginning to billow from under his hood as he pulled up.
McMinnville Fire Marshal Eric McMullen said a firefighter who’d been outside washing an ambulance rushed inside to get help. Firefighters opened the hood and found flames licking around the engine. They quickly grabbed a hose and put out the fire. McMullen said the crew was happy to be able to help without leaving the station. “We were joking today about our new drive-up service,” McMullen said.
