Axion International takes plastic milk jugs, detergent bottles and industrial plastic (computer casings and car bumpers) and recycles that material to make RSC (recycled structural composite). RSC can replace steel and concrete for bridge building, providing nearly zero-maintenance performance. Last year, RSC was demonstrated at Fort Bragg, N.C., where an RSC bridge supported the weight of a 70-ton M-1 tank.
