Forgive and forget?
While many accused criminals would probably welcome Jesus Christ on their juries, court officials in Birmingham, Ala., found her less than appealing.
Christ, in this case, is a 59-year-old woman formerly named Dorothy Lola Killingworth before changing to her current assignation, according to AP. When Christ was summoned for jury duty in Circuit Court Judge Clyde Jones courtroom, she was happy to serve. However, officials say she was disruptive and kept asking questions instead of answering them, so Jones excused her from duty.
Part of the disruption she caused, according to court administrator Sandra Turner, was that people were shocked when the former Killingworth insisted that her name was Jesus Christ, and some potential jurors laughed out loud when her name was called.
