IAFC, others, invite applications for Harvard Fire Executive Fellowship Program
The Fairfax, Va.-based International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), in partnership with several other agencies, is accepting applications for participation in its 2009 Harvard Fire Executive Fellowship Program. Eight fellowships will be available in the three-week training program that will be held at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass.
The program is open to senior fire executives who have demonstrated the potential to initiate change. Preference will be shown to applicants who graduated the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program, though graduation from that program is not a prerequisite for participation in the Harvard Fellowship program. Individuals from organizations that participated in the Harvard Fellowship program in 2006, 2007 or 2008 will not be considered. The deadline for applying is Feb. 14, 2009.
Other sponsors of the fellowship program are the Stillwater, Okla.-based International Fire Service Training Association/Fire Protection Publications, the Quincy, Mass.-based National Fire Protection Association and the U.S. Fire Administration. See information on IAFC’s application procedures for the fellowship program.
