NASCIO announces IT award winners
Eleven state IT initiatives have received awards from the Lexington, Ky.-based National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Information Technology in State Government. The winners were selected from 107 submissions by 30 states and include Delaware, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia.
The annual awards recognize programs that exemplify best practices, support the public policy goals of state leaders, help government officials execute their duties and provide cost-effective services to citizens. The recipients were honored at the NASCIO annual conference in Tucson last week.
Awards were presented in 10 categories: Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery; Cross-Boundary Collaboration and Partnerships; Data, Information and Knowledge Management; Digital Government: Government to Business; Digital Government: Government to Citizen; Digital Government: Government to Government; Enterprise IT Management Initiatives; Information Communications Technology Innovations; Information Security and Privacy; and IT Project and Portfolio Management.
