Water, water everywhere
Mt. Vernon, Ind., has contracted with Milwaukee-based Johnson Controls to connect the city’s water meters to its billing system.
Boulder, Colo., has contracted with Broomfield, Colo.-based MWH Global to assess the city’s raw water system to identify future needs.
La Vergne, Tenn., has contracted with Fort Washington, Pa.-based Severn Trent Services to operate and manage the city’s water utility system.
Carlsbad, Calif., has contracted with Stamford, Conn.-based Poseidon Resources to construct a water desalination plant.
Tampa Bay, Fla., has contracted with Houston-based Veolia Water to design, build and operate a 120-million-gallon-per-day, $158 million regional surface water treatment plant scheduled for completion in 2010.
The Nevada Irrigation District has voted to build a $235 million drinking water treatment plant for Lincoln, Nev., that will be completed in three to five years.
Montgomery, Ala., has contracted with Denver-based CH2M HILL to design the new $60 million Milley Creek Waste Water Treatment Plant, scheduled for completion in 2010.
