The grain elevator was one of a few remaining structures left standing in Greensburg, Kan., after a massive tornado struck there on May 4, killing 12 people. Now the League of Kansas Municipalities (LKM) is collecting money to help rebuild the town.
Donations to LKM’s fund will be given to the Greensburg city government to use in rebuilding the town’s infrastructure. Checks should be made out to “Greensburg Fund” and mailed to LKM, Attn.: Greensburg Fund, 300 SW 8th Ave., Topeka, KS, 66603. More information on the fund is available at www.lkm.org.
