Small Business Partner Consortium Announces RFP
While the Federal government is required to contract with small businesses using 23 percent of its prime contract dollars, oftentimes these small businesses are overshadowed by industry giants with attractive procurement amenities. Small Business Partner Consortium, created by CDW Government, Inc. (CDW-G), works to help small businesses win IT contracts with Federal, state, and local governments by allowing the small businesses to use CDW-G’s e-commerce, service, and distribution capabilities. The amount of business going to the Small Business Partner Consortium members nearly doubled from 2005 to 2006, showcasing the success of this approach to partnership in the Federal IT marketplace.
With the Small Business Partner Consortium, federal agencies can fulfill their goals for contracting with small businesses, small businesses can expand their reach into the Federal IT marketplace, and CDW-G can build relationships with outstanding IT services companies while expanding its Federal contracts base.
CDW-G announced its intent to add several small businesses to the 14-member consortium through a request for proposals (RFP). The deadline for the RFP is 4:00 p.m. Central Time on May 18, 2007.
