Identification System Uses Finger Biometrics for Security Screening
Biometric identity and access management system uses finger blood vessel authentication to provide high level of security without keys or cards. Imaging unit photographs a live finger’s blood vessel pattern using a permeating CCD camera with near-infrared light, converts the image to digital format, and registers image as a template. For user verification, a new image is instantly matched to the previously stored template through characteristic points that cannot be counterfeited. False acceptance rate is 1 in 1 million. Also assigns PIN numbers to users for secondary level of security. Use as integral or standalone system. Scalable for large to small operations in government, education, airport, medical, financial applications, and more. iAccess Systems, Inc., Long Beach, CA
