ICMA seeks nominations for service awards
The Washington-based International City/County Management Association (ICMA) is seeking nominees for its Distinguished Service and Honorary Member awards. May 4 is the deadline, and the nominees will be considered at ICMA’s June meeting.
The Distinguished Service Award is given to a retired city or county manager who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession. Candidates should show strong leadership in management associations, a pattern of supporting peers and colleagues, and a history of developing and implementing innovative programs.
Candidates for the Honorary Member Award should be individuals outside of the management profession who have given public service and assistance in improving local government. They should be leaders in promoting public understanding of local government management and be responsible for initiatives that develop local leadership.
The winners will be announced during ICMA’s annual conference in October. More information is available at www.icma.org.
