A new 211 Web site is giving residents of the Washington metro area access to a database of 10,000 programs and 4,000 services. The Web site, www.211metrodc.org, is just the first step in expanding 211 services for the area, officials say.
The Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington spearheaded the creation of the Web site, along with District of Columbia 211 Answers Please and several other public and private organizations. “With this new database, residents of the Washington metropolitan area can identify agencies and programs that meet their needs,” says Chuck Bean, the Roundtable’s executive director.
