The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) “Introduction to the National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP)” is a Web-based course for public safety officials about protecting basic services, such as energy, communications and water. DHS developed the course along with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The course includes information about how the NIPP protects critical infrastructure, and it identifies relevant authorities and the roles of NIPP security partners. Participants taking the course for credit are required to take a final exam, and DHS will provide certificates upon completion. The course information is available at www.learningservices.us/DHS/NIPP/.
