Chicago’s restaurant patrons may soon know more than they would like about the food they are buying. The city council is considering a proposed ordinance that would require fast food and other restaurants to post the calorie, sodium and fat content of their menu items, according to the Chicago Tribune. The alderman who proposed the ordinance, which is based on a similar law in New York, says he wants to provide more information to parents on what their children are eating.
