Louisiana’s state legislative auditor is recommending that Jefferson Parish prosecutors investigate the parish’s registrar of voters for possible malfeasance. A report from the auditor’s office says Dennis DiMarco improperly participated in two public retirement systems between 1998 and 2005, according to the Times-Picayune. DiMarco says the double-dipping was a misunderstanding and he has reimbursed the parish $26,700 that was placed in the parish’s retirement plan on his behalf.
