Having recently been evicted from his apartment in one of Newark, N.J.’s worst buildings, Mayor Cory Booker plans to continue his trend of living in the city’s most run-down, crime-ridden neighborhoods. For more than a decade, Booker has made it a policy to live in such neighborhoods as a way to draw attention to the plight of the residents, according to The New York Times. However, some critics say the mayor is more interested in drawing attention to himself.
