The breakdown of negotiations between the San Francisco 49ers football team and city officials over the construction of a new stadium could kill the city’s chance at hosting the 2016 Olympic Games. The new stadium was to double as on Olympic stadium, if the International Olympic Committee were to select the city as the site of the games, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Los Angeles and Chicago are also hoping to be the U.S. nominee for the games, and all three cities are supposed to submit bids to the U.S. Olympic Committee by Jan. 22.
