The National Transportation Safety Board reported 15 accidents since 1992 that were related to runway construction, and investigators looking at the recent crash of a Comair plane at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Ky., say a repaving project there may have been a contributing factor, according to The Kentucky Post. There are some common steps airports should take to prevent such occurrences, such as proper markings and issuing “notices to airmen.”
