State of New Hampshire Signs Software Contract
The State of New Hampshire plans to improve administrative support systems, increase productivity, and enhance accountability to citizens and legislators.
The state’s new software suite, Lawson Software’s Enterprise Financial Management, Human Capital Management, Procurement, Business Process Management, and Business Intelligence software suites, will replace the heavily-customized business system.
The state will use the new applications to update its statewide accounting system, improve the budgeting process for its legislative and executive branches, and accelerate its month-and year-end financial closing process from weeks to days. The consolidated ERP system is expected to help the state automate purchasing processes, support electronic payments to vendors and suppliers, and streamline benefits administration and payroll activities.
Lawson and CIBER, Inc., an international systems integration consultancy, are collaborating with the state to implement the system in three phases. The first phase, which began in May 2006, will roll out the new financial system and part of the budget system statewide. Implementation of the procurement and human resources software, as well as the balance of the budgeting system, will follow in phases two and three, respectively.
