The accident in Boston’s “Big Dig” that killed a woman is now being treated as a crime, and Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is calling on the Turnpike Authority chairman to resign. The state’s attorney general is issuing subpoenas to the project’s lead contractor, San Francisco-based Bechtel/Parsons Brinckerhoff, and anybody else who signed off on the concrete slab that fell from the ceiling of the Interstate 90 connector tunnel this week, according to The Boston Globe. The fatal incident is the latest in a series of problems for the $14.6 billion project, including delays, leaks in the tunnels and cost overruns.
