Houston has contracted with locally based HDR/S.R. Beard & Associates to provide planning support services for the city’s $2 billion METRO Solutions Transit System Plan.
Arvada, Colo., has contracted with Plain, Wis.-based Edward Kraemer and Sons to construct the $1.4 million Van Bibber Creek Trail underpass at Ward Road and West 56th Drive.
Avon, Colo., has contracted with Wichita, Kan.-based Optima Bus to provide up to five Opus Series hybrid low-floor buses. The city has an option to buy 10 more buses. The contract is worth $7.5 million.
The Georgia Department of Transportation has contracted with Georgia Transportation Partners in a $38.5 million agreement to propose improvements to Interstates 75 and 575 northwest of Atlanta.
The Michigan Department of Transportation has contracted with New York-based Parsons Brinckerhoff to rehabilitate Ford Road in Dearborn. The $17 million project is scheduled for completion in late 2007.
The Denver Regional Transportation District has purchased four diesel-electric, low-emission hybrid buses from Hayward, Calif.-based Gillig with engines from Detroit-based General Motors.
