Members of Congress are fighting to extend the enrollment deadline for the Medicare prescription drug benefit from May 15 to possibly through the end of 2006. According the Los Angeles Times, Republican Party leaders are opposing the extension, but other lawmakers have cited numerous complaints from elderly constituents regarding confusion over the benefit.
