Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff on Wednesday waived environmental laws preventing completion of a 14-mile-long border fence that will run through coastal wetlands to the Pacific Ocean.
Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff on Wednesday waived environmental laws preventing completion of a 14-mile-long border fence that will run through coastal wetlands to the Pacific Ocean. According to the Los Angeles Times, the remaining 3.5 miles of fence are expected to cost $32 million dollars and will combine with two new roads, other fencing, lighting and surveillance cameras to form a “security corridor.” Los Angeles Times
