Following the principles of emerging drug courts across the country, Orange County, Calif., has instituted a DUI court for drivers with at least two DUI arrests for no prior convictions for violent crimes, weapon or drug charges, or a fatal DUI accident. According to the Los Angeles Times, Orange County’s program is being funded for a year by $1 million grant from the state Office of Traffic Safety with advice from the local chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
