Forged petitions to ban same-sex marriages revealed in Summit County, Ohio
Summit County, Ohio, Board of Election officials believe they have traced 342,212 bogus signatures filed in petitions for an Ohio constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriages to one source. Board of Elections Director Bryan Williams did not identify the source, according to the Akron Beacon Journal, but noted that the circulator was apparently paid by California-based Arno Political Consultants Inc. Only 50 to 100 of the 3,787 signatures are believed to be actual signatures. After Williams’ findings are presented to the Board of Elections Tuesday, a decision will be made whether to turn the matter over to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=354&ncid=354&e=9&u=/krakron/20040930/lo_krakron/summittracesforgedpetitions
