announced
that
it
has
been
awarded
a
multi-million
dollar
contract
from
the U.S. Postal Service’s Retail Products & Services Contracting Office
.
The
contract
is
for
FP’s
digital
postage
meter,
the
ultimail
system.
FP’s
ultimail
digital
meter
will
also
feature
a
real
time
accounting
management
and
metering
system
(RAMM)
designed
by Triner Scales and Manufacturing
.
“FP’s ultimail system and RAMM will facilitate electronic data transfer and streamline business operations for the Postal Service’s retail and performance-based contract postal units (CPUs),” says Larry Turner, Chief Executive Officer of FP Mailing Solutions. “In keeping with the Federal Government’s community-focused purchasing initiatives and customer service, FP’s subcontracting relationship with Triner Scales will fulfill more than 80 percent of the contract through a small and woman owned business.”
Diverse Computing, Inc. (DCI)
signed a contract with the
Florida
Department
of
Law
Enforcement
(FDLE) to install the eAgent Client Messaging System. The contract is the result of an extensive, nationwide competitive bid process to replace the existing message switch access (“workstation”) software. The eAgent Messaging System will provide Florida law enforcement agencies with access to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (NLETS), Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC II) and other state systems.
The
Franklin
County,
Ohio,
Auditor’s
Office has awarded Sanborn a contract for a country-wide GIS update project. Sanborn, a provider of geographic information system (GIS) and photogrammetric services industry, will capture color aerial photography for the 540 squaremile county. Final deliverables will
include color digital orthophotos with a three-inch pixel resolution.
Numerous public entities, including municipalities, townships and school districts, use the auditor’s GIS for a variety of projects, such as utility tracking, drainage studies, bus routing and 911 emergency call routing.
The higher resolution orthophotos will give users greater visible detail—fire hydrants, manhole covers and the like will be easy to discern—resulting in more accurate decision-making.
ICF Consulting
has
been
awarded
a
5-year
contract
for
up
to
$18
million
by
the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA)
to
support
the
federal
government’s
new
eTravel
Initiative.
ICF
Consulting
will
measure
and
manage
the
success
of
the
eTravel
program
through
performance
evaluation,
acquisition
support,
and
market
analyzes.
One of President Bush’s EGovernment Initiatives, eTravel will revolutionize travel management functions. Formerly paper-based, the new on-line system delivers an easy-to-use, integrated travel service tool to the desktops of government customers. The service will simplify federal travel management, and is projected to save taxpayers up to 50 percent in federal travel management costs over the next decade.
First Vehicle Services
announced the signing of a three-year contract for the provision of fleet management and maintenance services for the
State
of
Virginia
Department
of
Transportation
(VDOT). The contract also includes two, one-year extension options. First Vehicle Services will provide VDOT with fleet services for more than 1,200 diverse vehicles within four shop locations including; administrative sedans, onand off-road vehicles and earthmoving and construction equipment. The new partnership is a pilot program similar to the contract First Vehicle Services currently holds with the Florida Department of Transportation.
