An Oakland County, Mich., official says the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department has been overcharging communities in the metro area. According to the Detroit Free Press, a study commissioned by Oakland County Drain Commissioner John McCulloch concludes that the Detroit department has overcharged 30 communities in the county by $13 million during the past two years. “If you look at the impact to the entire region the numbers would be staggering,” McCulloch told the newspaper. “The $13 million is just for the communities I represent in Oakland County. It doesn’t include all the other communities throughout the region that are served by Detroit.” For more information, visit
