Urban Planner II-III/Development
Full Salary Range: $44,211 to $78,836
This senior level, responsible principal planning position will assist the Development Division Chief in managing the department’s development review process, with responsibility for leading and coordinating staff teams working to improve the quality of development proposed within the city and for managing large-scale and complex development projects. The successful candidate will have a degree in planning or a related field (Master’s preferred), knowledge of the principles and practices of urban design, site design, and zoning; and strong analytical and communication skills. Project or program management experience and at least two years of experience working in the development process is preferred. Reference #: PZD-3-2207
Urban Planner II/Special Projects
Full Salary Range: $44,211 to $71,510
This newly created key position is for a highly responsible principal planner with strong analytical and communication skills to conduct planning studies and to work on neighborhood issues requiring creative, community based, land use and zoning solutions. This position will deal with a full range of planning issues, from subdivision and special use permit questions and reports to economic development, zoning studies and facilitation of complex neighborhood questions that require creative solutions. The successful candidate will have a degree in planning or a related field (Master’s preferred), knowledge of the principles and practices of planning, and strong analytical and communication skills. Urban Planner III/Neighborhood Planning and Community Development
Full Salary Range: $48,740 to $78,836
This newly created senior planning position is for a highly motivated, creative and responsible planner with strong analytical and communication skills to conduct planning studies and manage long-range planning projects. The City has embarked on a Citywide planning evaluation of new development areas as well as areas for revitalization and redevelopment. This position will deal with a variety of issues, including economic analysis, infill development, retail and neighborhood revitalization, and area visioning, within an extensive community involvement process to facilitate solutions for complex neighborhood issues. The successful candidate will have a degree in planning or a related field (Master’s preferred), knowledge of the principles and practices of planning, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience in managing complex planning projects. Experience in neighborhood planning and community development, economic analysis and community facilitation preferred. Reference #: PZD-3-2208
