Group publishes resource on government ethics
In light of recent corporate scandals, local governments may be inclined to review or establish ethics codes for officials and employees. A resource from the Alexandria, Va.-based International Personnel Management Association (IPMA) is designed to help cities and counties implement those codes.
The HR Center at the IPMA has produced an Ethics Packet that features sample ethics policies from cities, counties and states. The packet also includes information about policies regarding acceptance of gifts, use of public property, moonlighting and conflicts of interest.
IPMA agency members can receive a free copy of the resource, and individual members can purchase the packet for $30 each plus shipping and handling. Non-members can purchase the information for $50 each plus shipping and handling.
To place an order, call the IPMA Publications Department at (703) 549-7100, ext. 242; or e-mail [email protected] and specify order code CPR-ETH. For more information, visit www.ipma-hr.org.
