Energy Efficiency Program launched
The International City/County Management Association has launched an Energy Efficiency Program to educate local government managers and staff about performance-oriented energy management. The program provides local government access to information and resources that facilitate the financing and implementation of energy improvement activities.
“Local governments are significant managers and consumers of the nation’s energy resources,” says ICMA Executive Director Bill Hansell. “ICMA’s program to promote smart practices for energy efficiency among local governments has tremendous potential to reduce energy use, save money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”
Resources are available through the energy efficiency link on the Local Government Environmental Assistance Network, which provides news and information about legislation, publications and Web links.
