This white egret was spotted last month by Candace Furiosi, office manager for the Ft. Myers, Fla., MIS Department, in Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve. The preserve protects 2,000 acres of wetlands, which collect stormwater runoff and treat it before it flows into Estero Bay. A mile-long boardwalk winds through the slough, giving visitors opportunities to observe a variety of wildlife.
