California County Enables Real-Time Info Exchange
Tulare County, CA, has chosen a software platform that will enable real-time information exchange by integrating applications at different county departments involved in the justice process, such as, the Court, District Attorney, Probation, Public Defender and Sheriff.
Improving the operational efficiency of the Justice machinery was the priority. The County selected the Fiorano SOA platform by Fiorano Software, Inc., a provider of standards-based business process integration and messaging infrastructure.
“The challenge was integrating several disparate information systems that required constant manual intervention and coordination for exchange of data. While a long term, scalable solution became an imperative; the County also had to work within its budgetary constraints,” said Mr. Eric Prosser, Chief Information Technology Officer of the County.
“The goal was to streamline delivery of services, we conducted a stringent technical Proof of Concept to evaluate various solutions,” explains Mr. Prosser. “Fiorano was selected for its ease of use, inherent design advantages and affordability. With the Fiorano SOA Platform, the County will establish a solid foundation for an incremental move to a Service-Oriented-Architecture, based on standards and maximize utilization of its existing IT infrastructure investment.”
“In addition, ordering activities are easy since Fiorano has an existing GSA for sale of products to Government,” he added.
