Wetland restoration projects receive grants
The Washington, D.C.-based National Association of Counties (NACo) has awarded $115,600 in grants to wetland and watershed restoration projects in 11 counties. The organization’s Five Star Restoration Challenge Grant Program provided the grants, which act as seed money to leverage funds and services that are coordinated by the grantees. The grant recipients are:
The Clinton, N.Y., Conservation Advisory Council in Dutchess County, N.Y.;
Meadowview Elementary in Dakota County, Minn.;
Montgomery County, Pa., Conservation District;
Allegany County, Md., Soil Conservation District;
Monroe County, Fla., Schools;
The Ozaukee Washington Land Trust in Ozaukee County, Wis.;
Indianapolis-Marion County, Ind., Parks &Recreation Department;
Hot Sulphur Springs, Colo., in Grand County, Colo.;
Wallowa Resources in Wallowa County, Ore.;
San Pablo, Calif., Public Works Department in Contra Costa County, Calif.; and
Middleton, Wis., in Dane County, Wis.
