State, county and municipal governments are major fleet owners. These governments own 3.1 autos, buses, trucks and truck tractors, says the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in its latest “Highway Statistics” volume. The governments also own 225,000 trailers and semi-trailers plus 25,000 motorcycles. The FHWA statistics were released in early 2014.

The November 2014 Government Product News featured descriptions for 20 fleet products. View lubricants, light bars, vehicle detailing tools and other fleet maintenance products and equipment in this gallery.

Visit this site to view the November GPN digital edition, which has the entire GPN fleet product section. Vendors: Please send your firm’s fleet product news releases to the author. Advertising and public relations agencies: please send your truck fleet case studies, applications articles and success stories to the author. Contact the author for more statistics on government-owned fleets.
