Grasshopper DriftBuster Snowthrower (with related video)

Grasshopper DriftBuster Snowthrower (with related video)

Grasshopper's DriftBuster Snowthrower is a snow removal system for government grounds and facilities managers, and public works departments.

It’s a versatile Grasshopper PTO-driven Snowthrower that delivers “no clog” performance even in deep, heavy, wet snow. FrontMount power units serve as the heart of a complete snow removal system that clears sidewalks, driveways and congested areas with no wasted motion. True ZeroTurn maneuverability allows the operator to go in and out of places where only walk-behinds could venture before. The Grasshopper Company is based in Moundridge, Kan.

True zero-turn models feature heavy-gauge welded steel construction and high-speed augers with heavy-duty flighting, with a discharge spout that rotates 180 degrees to put snow where it needs to go — up to 30 feet away.

An optional full-view winter enclosure provides protection from wintery conditions for maximum comfort and productivity. Additional options for the winter enclosure include an electric windshield wiper and a 16,000-BTU heater for liquid-cooled power units. The use of winter enclosure requires counterweight. Other snow-removal accessories include:

V-plow: A 60-inch V-plow removes snow from sidewalks and driveways, clearing a 5-foot path. The front-mounted V-plow features reversible/replaceable blades and a hand-controlled lift that raises the implement and locks into one of four positions for transport.

CleanSweep rotary brooms: PTO-driven rotary brooms sweep dirt and debris and can clean up to eight inches of snow down to the pavement. Zero-turn maneuverability speeds the operation with either 48-inch and 60-inch fixed-angle (25 degrees right) models or the 60-inch bidirectional model, which can be adjusted hydraulically 25 degrees left or right from the operator’s seat or raised and lowered electrically up to two inches. (Install gauge wheels and standard deck mount bushings to use bidirectional model for dethatching.)

Winterization tips help operators prepare Grasshopper snow-removal gear for cold weather. Every Grasshopper mower is designed to make routine maintenance and winterization simple. Here are some tips to help grounds maintenance departments prepare their Grasshopper equipment for the cold winter months ahead.

Product Highlights:

  • FrontMount power units serve as the heart of a complete, high-performance snow removal system.
  • It clears sidewalks, driveways and congested areas with no wasted motion.
  • It delivers “no clog” performance, even in deep, heavy, wet snow.

Managing landslides along road corridors using remote sensing
Maintaining roads is an optimization problem. Local officials must balance limited and sometimes shrinking budgets with the needs of their communities to have safe and reliable transportation systems. Unfortunately, the importance of a particular maintenance issue is often judged based on anecdotal information and complaints from the public rather than hard data. This approach is […]
