22. State parks cope with budget crises
In Idaho, state parks and recreation agencies are facing $4.5 million in budget cuts as the state heads into FY 2011. Instead of closing three of Idaho’s 30 state parks to balance its budget, the Idaho Park and Recreation Board has voted to keep all parks open.

24. Need for equipment grows after Deepwater Horizon spill
Oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill is nearing Pensacola Beach in Florida’s Panhandle, and government officials are clamoring for beach cleaning equipment. Pensacola Beach officials have requested about $150,000 from BP to buy sifting machines and a tractor to help remove oil from the beach’s white sands.
25. Many industry associations protest ARRA’s ‘Buy American’ clause
A group of 28 industry associations — representing equipment manufacturers, technology businesses and trade groups — have sent a letter to congressional leaders asking that “Buy American” clauses, such as the one included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), be excluded from future economic stimulus legislation.
