Heat-shielding transition windows
RavenBrick windows block solar heat from warming rooms on already-hot days.
RavenBrick windows block solar heat from warming rooms on already-hot days. While remaining translucent enough for natural light to enter, the windows transition to a darker shade that can save up to 50 percent in energy costs otherwise incurred cooling building interiors. Conversely, if cold weather accompanies sun (on bright winter days), no reaction is triggered. (Solar heat can then contribute to raising the room temperature and reducing energy costs.) The windows use no wires or control systems, reducing maintenance and installation time.
