New assignments and promotions at John Deere, National Association of Water Companies, PBS&J International, and Schwarze Industries.

Michael Mack

Moline, Ill. -based tractor manufacturer John Deere has named Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Michael Mack president of Deere’s Worldwide Construction & Forestry Division. Mack served previously in the finance division as vice president and treasurer, and in the company’s Worldwide Commercial & Consumer Division as senior vice president, marketing and administration. He has held other positions in a range of Deere disciplines in North America and Europe, including treasury, dealer systems, business development, purchasing and manufacturing. A registered professional engineer, Mack holds master’s degrees in mechanical engineering and in business administration.

Michael Deane

The Washington-based National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) has named Deputy Executive Director Michael Deane as the organization’s executive director. Deane will guide the strategic direction of the organization while overseeing all operations of the association and liaising with NAWC members. Deane recently joined NAWC as deputy executive director and director of strategic development. Previously, he worked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as associate assistant administrator for water. He spent four years as vice president of strategic development at Harrington Park, N.J.-based United Water, and he helped form the Water Partnership Council, a trade association that represents a diverse group of companies providing water and wastewater services to nearly 2,000 cities and communities.

Walid Hatoum

Tampa, Fla. -based engineering firm PBS&J International has named Director of International Business Development Walid Hatoum president of the company. Prior to joining PBS&J International, Hatoum served as division manager for Parsons International operating out of London, England, and Abu Dhabi, UAE. He also served as chief of party for the USAID Iraq Infrastructure Reconstruction Program, Phase II, in Baghdad, with responsibility for the water sector of that $1.7 billion program. More recently, Hatoum served as the US East division manager for Parsons Water and Infrastructure. Hatoum joined PBS&J International as director of international business development in May.

Bob Faulhaber

Huntsville, Ala.-based Schwarze Industries has hired Bob Faulhaber as the company’s new president. Previously, he served as president of Gadsden, Ala.-based Mid-South Industries. Faulhaber is a native of New Jersey, and graduated from Kean University with a bachelor of science degree in industrial technology. Faulhaber has spent the majority of his career in Alabama, Tennessee and Florida. He is Toyota Production System-trained, a Six Sigma Black Belt, and has more than 30 years of manufacturing experience serving a variety of industries, including automotive, fire and rescue vehicles, telecommunications and industrial controls.
